In order to provide the Electoral Task Team (ETT) with the most useful information on public attitudes, this survey of public opinion focuses first on measuring public views of the system they have in front of them, and second, on assessing what they want out of a voting system in general.
The Democracy and Governance research unit explores contributions to and constraints upon democratisation throughout South Africa and the African continent. Researchers evaluate the policies and impact of government, business and civil society with regard to the capacity to reduce inequality and poverty whilst empowering communities to promote local, national and regional sustainable development.
